The work Fruit was inspired by the similarity between the animal intestine, plant vascular tissue
and the human artifice of plumbings. This tubular structure used for transportation of matter is present
in ourselves (the human body), the natural resources we exploit (wood), and the world we set up against
the earth (piping and plumbing). Today, the extensive pipeline structures all over the earth almost
signifies a mutual extension of our metabolism into nature, and nature's into ours. Gaining its appearance
from part of the human intestine and the blood vessels attached to it, this artwork was made to
capture the intricate mutual metabolism between our body and nature. This artwork is hanged from the ceiling
and indicates a levitation of the "intestine" (laminated plywood, metal wire and rice paper) by
the "blood vessel" (branches), mimicking the natural event of fruiting.
